Preparing for the Presentation

I have found several very good articles about one to one teaching methods.  The thing that I found which most relates to nursing is preceptorship.  A nurse preceptor is the primary person who teaches the student nurse in the clinical setting.  Student nurses often have trouble transitioning into the professional role.  Preceptors help make this transition easier.

Felix and I have been working together to develop our presentation.  Our example of a one to one instructional method will be on medication administration.  I hope everyone will enjoy it.

One on One Instructional Presentation

The instructional method Felix and I will be presenting next is one on one instruction.  One on one instruction can be a very affective teaching method which focuses on an individual's learning style.  The instructor is able to provide information in a manner that best suits the student.

About Me

Hi everyone!  I have been a nurse since 1996 when I graduated with an ADN.  Since, I have completed the BSN program with University of Houston-Victoria and will graduate this December with an MSN.  I am currently a director of a medical and oncology unit, but plan to pursue a higher administrative position.  I am especially interested in quality outcomes and Joint Commission standards.  I have enjoyed this semester and had no idea how to create a wiki or a blog until now.
